Built from within the industry.
Not above it.

ridetreat is the marketplace for riding facilities, lessons, holidays, training services, livery and riding shares across the DACH region. Built by two riders who sit in the saddle themselves – and who knew that the equestrian world is too big and too good to piece together across ten browser tabs.

What ridetreat is

ridetreat brings together what riding facilities and equestrian businesses across the DACH region offer – all in one place. Riding lessons. Riding holidays. Equestrian breaks. Training services. Livery. Riding shares. Courses. Carriage rides. Riders find, compare and book. Facilities become visible without changing how they work.

The equestrian industry is economically significant, hugely diverse and full of passion – and at the same time often unnecessarily complicated when it comes to digital. Riding offers are difficult to compare, information is scattered, and bookings happen through messages, phone calls and gut feeling.

OUR MISSION

To make the equestrian world accessible, comparable and trustworthy – without facilities having to bend out of shape, or riders having to spend hours on the phone.

Why we're building this

Anyone who has searched for a riding facility knows the experience: you type "riding stable near me" into Google and find five results. One has a website from 2014. One has a Facebook page that hasn't been touched in two years. One has no prices. One has no offers. You phone. You wait. Sometimes for days.

Anyone who runs a riding facility knows it's no easier on the other side. Enquiries arrive by phone, WhatsApp, email and Instagram DM. Some at 10pm in the evening, some during a riding lesson. Bookings live in someone's head – or in a notebook on the kitchen table. Stable owners turn into call centres because no one ever showed them how it could work differently.

That isn't because the industry is unprofessional. It's because the digital solutions on offer until now haven't really fit how stables actually work. Standard SaaS tools and travel-style platforms haven't understood the market – and have either failed or stayed invisible.

ridetreat grows out of that reality. Out of our own experience as riders. Out of countless conversations with stable owners, trainers, agents and service providers. Out of close work with pilot partners who tell us what works and what doesn't.

"Riding facilities don't have a quality problem. They have a reachability problem. And it's costing them bookings every single day."

Why we're called Ridetreat

The name isn't an accident. Ride stands for the riding, the doing, the movement. And retreat stands for the time out, the deliberate pause, the small escape. Together: ridetreat. A place where the equestrian world can slow down without standing still.

Deliberately no Equi-anything. No "Stable24". No generic tech name you forget within three days. A word that describes what good time with horses really is for many people: a small, personal retreat.

What we do differently

The equestrian industry isn't a classic tech market. It runs on experience, clear rules and personal responsibility. Many digital solutions fail not for technical reasons – but because they try to simplify stable life without understanding it.

We believe digitalisation should ease the load, not retrain you. Standardisation where it helps. Freedom where it's needed. The facility stays in control – always.

INDUSTRY VALIDATION · FEBRUARY 2026

We went to spoga horse with an idea.
We came back with something different.

spoga horse in Cologne is the international trade fair for the equestrian industry. Anyone presenting something new there usually has a finished platform, a stand and a PR team. We had two weeks of preparation and a landing page.

We wanted to find out whether the industry actually wanted what we were building. Three days, hundreds of conversations. With stable owners, agents, associations and service providers. With people who have stood in this industry for thirty years and watched many tech attempts fail.

We didn't come back with business cards. We came back with concrete test partners, with cooperation requests, and with a clear message from the industry: Keep going. Please.

That was exactly what we needed to know the idea wasn't just working in theory.

Who we're starting with

ANCHOR PARTNER

Bernsteinreiter

Our first major partner is the experience-stable group Bernsteinreiter, founded in 2008 by Tino Leipold, an award-winning entrepreneur in the equestrian sector. What began as a small riding stable in Hirschburg has become the largest equestrian tourism operation in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern – home to the state's most active riding club.

Who's behind Ridetreat

Osi – our AI assistant

Osi is the AI assistant of ridetreat. He helps riders find suitable offers and supports facilities in building their profiles. His name comes from a real horse: the Trakehner premium stallion Osiander of Bernsteinreiter.

We could have given our AI assistant a generic name – something like "Ridebot" or "Assistly". We chose not to. For the same reason that the mascot is being painted by a real artist (Sina Agneta) rather than generated by an image model: an AI is a tool. It should support people, not replace them. Not even in the artwork that gives it a face.
