What is Noriker?

The Noriker is a courageous, resilient draft horse standing 155 to 165 cm and appearing in bay, black, chestnut, roan, and leopard complex patterns. It serves as an alpine draft and transport animal, with further use in agriculture, riding, and driving. Originating in Austria, it was bred to move goods across the Alps and later adapted to farm work. Its studbook, established in 1688, has been closed since 1903 to preserve strict purebred status.
