What is a Thoroughbred?

The Thoroughbred is a horse breed developed in England for speed and endurance in racing and equestrian sports. It is registered through the General Stud Book, which has recorded purebred lineage since 1793. Unlike the Anglo Arabian, it is bred exclusively for performance with a closed studbook and no Arabian cross influence.
