What is Endurance & Distance Riding?

Endurance Distance is a competitive equestrian discipline where horse and rider tackle cross-country trail rides of 50–100 miles in a single day. Rides are off-road on marked trails with one rider per horse and mandatory time limits of 12 hours for 50 miles or 24 hours for 100 miles. Veterinary inspections before, during, and after the ride safeguard horse welfare throughout. FEI governance ensures standardized rules and safety, setting the discipline apart from shorter Limited Distance events and non-competitive trail riding.
