What defines riding in Tyrol?

Tyrol sits at the heart of the central Alps, where high mean elevation shapes every aspect of the landscape, from settlement patterns to local weather. Narrow north, south valleys such as the Ötztal and Pitztal carve deep into the mountains, their peaks limiting sunlight and creating distinct microclimates. Most settlements sit above 500 metres, with the area around Kufstein among the few exceptions. Romantic lakes, castles, and folkloric traditions rooted in the Alpine environment give the region a character unlike any lowland Austrian state.
