What defines riding in Zürich?

Zürich's landscape is shaped by the Swiss Plateau: rolling hills, river valleys, and the long shoreline of Lake Zürich. The canton's German-speaking heritage runs deep, from the historic old town of the city itself to the quiet villages of the Zürichbiet. Equestrian life has been part of local culture since at least the early 1980s, with show traditions and riding clubs rooted across the region. Four distinct seasons keep the riding calendar full, with mild summers offering the greatest comfort on trail.
