What is Fjord Horse?

The Fjord horse is a small, strong Norwegian breed standing 135 to 150 cm and always wearing a mandatory dun coat in five recognised shades. It excels in harness work, riding, farm duties, and draught tasks. The breed developed in the mountainous regions of western Norway, with a studbook managed since 1910. Near-absence of white markings sets it apart from related Nordic ponies.
