About the Oldenburg
The Oldenburg stands 160–170 cm and wears bay, gray, black, chestnut, or seal brown. Bred for dressage, show jumping, and eventing, it is a tall, expressive German sport horse. It traces to the Grand Duchy of Oldenburg in Lower Saxony and breeds under liberal pedigree rules using privately owned stallions. The studbook has operated since 1923.
