What defines riding in Rhineland-Palatinate?

Rheinland-Pfalz stretches across four upland ranges, Westerwald, Eifel, Hunsrück, and Pfälzerwald, and the broad valleys of the Rhein, Mosel, Nahe, and Ahr. The Vulkaneifel harbours maar lakes and ancient crater formations, including the Laacher See, the state's largest lake and a flooded volcanic crater. The Nahetal marks the quiet border country between the Hunsrück and the Palatinate, adding yet another face to the region's varied terrain. A mild climate keeps riding comfortable across much of the year, with the river valley wine landscapes offering gentle low-level routes between the upland rides.
