Four nights in the arena

'Nacht der Pferde – The Power of Emotions!' runs on four evenings under the lights. Expect showmanship, music, and horses in the arena – less competition, more performance with a real arc to it.

Ten disciplines, one venue

Show jumping, endurance, western riding, breed shows – PFERD Wels covers a wide range of disciplines. Over one weekend you can watch competitions and demonstrations from ten different areas of the sport.

Horse sport in Wels

The Messe Wels becomes the main address for horse sport in Upper Austria during the event. Sport, breeding, and show programme run side by side, so you can put together your own day.

Maps disabled

Interactive maps are disabled because they transmit data to Mapbox (US servers).

By car, the recommended route is via the Wels West motorway exit. By public transport, ÖBB trains run directly from Wels main station to Wels Messe – a standard public transport ticket covers the journey. Families travelling on weekdays from 9 am or any time on weekends and public holidays can use the Freizeit-Ticket OÖ, which covers two adults and up to four children under 15 on all public transport in Upper Austria for one day.

CarTrain

The event is visitor-facing and ticketed. Practical details such as day tickets, show tickets and hall opening times should be checked against the organiser once the 2027 programme is published.

Children up to age 5 enter free, and reduced tickets are available for children aged 5 to 13. The Upper Austrian Freizeitticket (covering 2 adults and up to 4 children under 15) is valid at the event; holders of the Klima-Ticket OÖ can bring children along on public transport at no extra cost.

The Sunday performance of "Nacht der Pferde" starts at 10:30 rather than in the evening, which makes it the more practical option for families with younger children. Note that dogs are not allowed on the grounds.

Riders and exhibitors register through the official Ausstelleranfrage form on pferd-wels.at. The competition programme covers the Western Horse Show Wels 2026, a Working Equitation Tournament, and CSN-A* national show jumping classes, alongside breeding and young horse categories.

Registration Participant registration runs via the exhibitor inquiry form on the official website. Details on entry requirements, stabling, and start numbers are listed there.
