What is dressage?
Dressage is the systematic gymnastic training of the horse: it learns to carry itself in balance, respond to the finest aids — and stays healthy and beautiful in the process.
The term comes from the French dresser (to train) — not circus tricks, but a centuries-old training philosophy that forms the foundation of every riding style, from jumping to trail riding. As a competitive sport, horse and rider perform tests in the arena, judged on a scale from 0 to 10.
