CSI4* show jumping and CDI5* dressage

Riding under the glass dome

What is Internationales Festhallen Reitturnier?
The Internationales Festhallen Reitturnier is an international dressage and show jumping tournament held at the Festhalle Frankfurt in Hessen, running 16 to 20 December 2026. The 2026 edition is the 51st, making it one of the longest-running tournaments of its kind in Germany. Riders and spectators who want to see Dressage & Classical and Show Jumping at the highest level – CDI5 and CSI4 – in one place will find it here in December, just before Christmas. The programme also includes the finals of two major young horse dressage series. Tickets are required and cover individual day or evening sessions, or the full tournament via a season pass.

The Internationales Festhallen Reitturnier 2026 runs across five days with separate daytime and evening sessions – CSI4 show jumping and CDI5 dressage run throughout the week.

Das große Weihnachtsfest der Pferde opens the tournament at 19:00 and runs until 21:00. The first evening sets the tone: the grand domed hall, Christmas atmosphere, and opening competition.
Thu · Thursday, 17 December · Hessentag & Evening Show
The daytime session starts at 08:00 in the morning and runs until 17:45. The programme features the traditional Hessentag, where riders from Hessian clubs compete in dressage and show jumping – a rare amount of programme time for regional athletes at an international tournament. The evening session follows at 18:00 with a show competition between Hessian riding clubs.

The daytime session runs until 17:00, with the evening session starting directly after. The NÜRNBERGER BURG-POKAL final – the leading young horse dressage series for seven- to nine-year-olds at St. Georg Special level – and the Louisdor-Preis final for eight- to ten-year-old Grand Prix prospects are decided during the course of the tournament.
Where does Internationales Festhallen Reitturnier take place?
The Internationales Festhallen Reitturnier takes place at the Festhalle Frankfurt in Frankfurt am Main. The domed building, rising 40 metres at its apex, gives the tournament an immediately distinctive setting – the show jumping Parcours and dressage arena sit beneath one of Germany's most recognisable event roofs. Around the competition arena, more than 100 exhibitors fill over 8,000 m² with fashion, art, gifts, accessories, and equestrian equipment. Pre-Christmas decoration throughout the hall is part of what defines the tournament's atmosphere.

The Festhalle Frankfurt is right on the tram and U-Bahn network – the City entrance sits next to the Messeturm, while the LEA entrance is beside the Maritim Hotel/Congress Center. For morning sessions, doors open half an hour before the first class; for afternoon and evening sessions, the shopping area opens two hours before start, with the stands opening half an hour before. Riders competing at the Internationales Festhallen Reitturnier 2026 will find classes from Kl. A through Kl. S, alongside international starts at CSI4 and CDI5* level. Entries are handled via the official tournament website. For young horse connections, the NÜRNBERGER BURG-POKAL final (seven- to nine-year-old dressage horses, St. Georg Special level) and the Louisdor-Preis final (eight- to ten-year-old Grand Prix prospects) are both staged exclusively at this tournament as their season-ending finals.

Ticket purchases are not subject to a right of withdrawal under distance-selling rules – German law explicitly excludes leisure and sporting events from that provision (§ 312g para. 2 no. 9 BGB).
