Friday brings the 1.55m Prix des Communes Genevoises as the second qualifier, followed by the annual 1.60m Rolex IJRC Top 10 Final. The week closes on Sunday with the 1.60m Rolex Grand Prix, the final Major of the year in the Rolex Grand Slam of Show Jumping.

Where does CHI Geneva take place?

CHI Geneva takes place at Palexpo in Geneva, one of Switzerland's largest convention and exhibition centres, situated directly adjacent to Geneva Airport. The venue's interconnected halls house multiple arenas side by side, keeping travel between rings short. Geneva sits at the southwestern end of Lake Geneva, with the Jura mountains to the north and the Alps visible to the south. The city centre, including the Old Town and the Jet d'Eau, is easily reachable for anyone building a trip around the December event.

Interactive maps are disabled because they transmit data to Mapbox (US servers).

Palexpo is a five-minute walk from Genève-Aéroport train station, served by regional and intercity trains. By car, take the Genève-Aéroport exit on the A1 motorway and follow signs to Palexpo. Bus lines 23, 28, and 50 stop directly at the venue; line 23 runs from Geneva's main station, Cornavin. Visitor parking on site is paid; competitors with horse trailers have a dedicated free parking area with covered spaces. A park-and-ride shuttle service is also available.

CHI Geneva is a ticketed event; adult day tickets are available on the official website. All competition arenas are inside the Palexpo halls, so December weather is not a factor once you are inside, though it is worth dressing warmly for outdoor areas and corridors. The atmosphere shifts noticeably on Sunday when the Rolex Grand Prix is at stake: stands fill up and the tension builds round by round. Good to know

  • Sturdy footwear is advisable for outdoor areas around the venue
  • Pets: no information available, check with the organizer in advance

CHI Geneva offers a dedicated children's programme including a bouncy castle, pony rides (daily until 17:00), drawing competitions, and a face painting station. The Kids' Club provides supervised childcare for children aged 4 to 12, open daily until 18:00. A family area with seating and baby-changing facilities is available. Children can move at their own pace between the kids' area and the arenas while adults follow the competition.

Riders competing at CHI Geneva 2026 need to meet CSI5* qualification standards; entry is handled through the official CHI Geneva website. The 2026 field reflects the current world rankings: Kent Farrington (USA, world no. 1), Scott Brash (GBR, world no. 2 and Grand Slam Live Contender), Christian Kukuk (GER, reigning Olympic Champion), Ben Maher (GBR), Gilles Thomas (BEL), Richard Vogel (GER), Harrie Smolders (NED), Julien Epaillard (FRA), and Daniel Coyle (IRL) are all entered. The Swiss team includes Steve Guerdat, Martin Fuchs, Pius Schwizer, Edouard Schmitz, and Géraldine Straumann.
