What is Driving?

A horse or team of horses is hitched to a carriage and judged on performance and precision. Turnouts range from a single horse to a pair or team of four across three phases, Driven Dressage, Marathon, and Cones. Penalty points determine final placement, and the FEI World Cup Driving showcases four-in-hand competition. Unlike mounted disciplines, Driving centers on vehicle propulsion and vehicle-based performance rather than rider-mounted action.
