Opening night show on 11 August
On 11 August, the main stadium becomes a stage: more than 250 horses, live music, and dance make up the opening gala.
Accessible for everyone
Wheelchair-accessible parking, entrances, and restrooms are available throughout the venue. Mobility shuttles run between the parking areas and the grounds, so you don't have to manage a long walk.

The FEI World Championships Aachen 2026 are an international equestrian tournament held in Aachen, North Rhine-Westphalia, running 11â23 August 2026. Where does FEI World Championships Aachen take place?
The FEI World Championships Aachen 2026 take place on the CHIO grounds in Aachen, North Rhine-Westphalia, with the Hauptstadion and the Allianz Park as the two main competition venues. Aachen sits in the far west of Germany, close to the Belgian and Dutch borders. The city is well connected by public transport and has a broad range of hotels, restaurants, and sights within easy reach of the event grounds.

From Cologne, take the A4 motorway to the Aachen-Laurensberg exit; from DĂŒsseldorf, follow the A44 to Aachen-Mitte. Aachen Hauptbahnhof, about 10 km from the venue, is served by shuttle buses that run directly to the grounds in around 20 minutes. Horse trailer parking is available in designated areas on site.
The FEI World Championships Aachen 2026 are a ticketed event, spectators buy tickets for specific days, and the programme varies by discipline across the two-week run. The grounds are large enough that you can move between the Hauptstadion and the Allianz Park depending on what's on. Only riderâhorse combinations nominated by their national federation and meeting FEI qualification criteria can enter the FEI World Championships Aachen 2026. Team format
- Each national federation may enter a team of three or four combinations (one horse per rider).
- Federations unable to field a full team may send one or two individual combinations instead. Eventing
- Up to five combinations per nation: three to four as a team, the fifth as an individual.
- Competition levels: CCI4*-L, CCI5*-L, and CCI4*-S. Entry runs through national federations; the nomination process is described on the official website under "Nennung".
